Gada Chandi temple!!

Today, I visited Gada Chandi Temple for the first time. Please don't laugh at me for being a Cuttack resident who hadn't been there before. I truly believe that it's divine intervention that allows us to visit such sacred places. So, despite being a local, I hadn't had the opportunity to visit Gadachandi Temple until today. I felt a sense of joy and surprise when I suddenly found myself at this ancient and renowned temple.





As I stood before the divine presence of the Goddess, I was unsure of what to pray for or how to express my gratitude. My mind went blank, and I couldn't recall any specific prayers. So, I focused on the prayers inscribed at the temple. Nevertheless, I felt a profound sense of peace and tranquility, an inexplicable feeling that words cannot fully capture.

May the divine grace of the Goddess bless all.

Mile Sur Mera tumhara

Hi Readers, This song " Mile sur mera tumhara" used to be my favorite song in childhood. People born in 80's and 90's would remember the song being telecast-ed in DoorDashan. Even though I did not knew which lines belong to which region and language, I used to remember whole of the song. Though, I might not pronounce whole of it correctly, I could get the lyrics correct.  Only thing that disappointed me was the Odia part was presented by tribal people. My disappointment was because people of other region were shown in their traditional attires, and Odisha is also recognized for its hand-loom and typical way of draping saree. Then why they had to choose tribal people with a bamboo hat. It is also not that majority of Odia belongs to tribal community. I have shared the image for Odia below. Sage Mudgalasya

Hi Readers, I also searched for Sage Mudgalasya after whom my pre-marital Gotra was named. I got one interesting story, that speaks about equanimity of mind. Here, is the story for you. Sage Mudgal was a very pious soul. He had taken a vow and accordingly would pick up for support grains left on field by men after had gathered and carried away the sheaves. In a fortnight he would collect about 32kg of grains. Thereafter he used to perform sacred Yajna, give food to Brahmins and himself take the food that remained after the deities and the guests had eaten. On Amavasya (No moon day) and poornima (full moon day this was a usual practice. For fifteen days he would toil hard to earn his living and that earning was judiciously used in the yajna.
